Fashion and Form, Creativity in Code

Grade 7 - 11 Art and Music Students embarked on a 8 week PBL exploring different forms of combining creative pursuits. Grade 7's PBL was Vibrant Realities - A Pixelated Journey exploring their personal story within a computer game, creating all art assets and the music soundtrack. Students then had to program/code a basic game using the program Scratch.

Grade 8 and 9 focused on redefining art and music in fashion - culminating in a Show where by the students had repurposed many everyday materials into wearable fashion, as well as designing and composing appropriate music to go with their Cat walk. With snow still around, it provided the perfect backdrop for the showcase.

Grade 10 and 11 considered 'How can we transform a space with sight and sound whilst having minimum material impact but maximum impact on environmental issues?' (Grade 10) & Object, Garment, Art .... Can something be all three?' (Grade 11).
Working in twos or threes, the Grade 10 created works based around the use of upcycled materials and fabrics to create expanding sculptures and installations which acted as a photoshoot backdrop for the 'object, garment, artworks' that were created by Grade 11 groups.
