The last months have been very difficult for all people and schools around the world and we are gladly looking forward to the end of 2020. At the moment, we remain in the classification "YELLOW", meaning that lessons take place, and only children of the gymnasiale Oberstufe are wearing masks. However, we have moved successfully moved into Granitzstr. with our secondary school and we are now leaving behind Weissensee. Please, see our facebook profile for some images.

Spring has finally arrived, but yet the reality of war in Europe makes our world seem darker. BBS wants to make a difference in the lives of children who have come to Germany from Ukraine!
Every little helps!
We, the community of the Berlin Bilingual School Berlin, see the call of inclusive education as an important asset.
This already starts at the main entrance, which with its large staircase access at Weinstr. 1 is currently not barrier-free and urgently needs to be rebuilt. A ramp will ensure accessibility and provide equal access for all children and adults.
Our community consists of 290 children between the ages of 6 and 12, as well as their parents. We also care for children with motor impairments or who are dependent on a wheelchair.
Following our Open House webinar on 20th January we would like to invite you to a school tour on 19th March 2022. The tour lasts about 30min. You can get first impressions of our school through our BBS students and parents who will accompany you.
Unfortunately, we need to keep the number of visitors as low as possible, so you will need to sign up for a tour in advance. Please note that only one parent per family will be allowed to accompany their child on the tour.
Our Secondary School Open House will be held virtually on January 20, 2022. At 4.30 pm, there will be a webinar, "Introduction: Berlin Bilingual School Secondary School" with our BBS secondary staff.

The world is still in the midst of an on-going global pandemic, and though we can finally already see the light at the end of the tunnel, the last 18 months have taken a strain on all of us. With “World Mental Health Day” approaching on Sunday, 10 October, we caught up with Inge Akker, who works as the social worker at the secondary school in Granitzstraße to talk to her about mental health and well-being. Inge has been working at BBS since 2013. Until approximately one and a half years ago she was working at the primary school in Weinstraße.
On 4th September we had more than 200 prospective parents visit our primary schools. Tours were held every 45min by our parents. It was a great day and we hope our future parents got a glimpse about BBS. The Monday after, our head of Hort (Sarah Vissers) and Andrew Comerford (Head of Primary) gave an insightful presentation on our pedagogy. You missed it? Don't worry, please download the file:
As of August 2021 we have a new catering company - Biologisch Catering.
If you would like to know what is on this week's menu, please see for yourself.
